The Elrod House was designed in 1968 by architect John Lautner as a residence for interior designer Arthur Elrod. Ιt was built on a hillside, over the Palm Springs city desert in California, and it is one of the most distinctive examples of futuristic design.
The James Bond fans will definitely remember scenes from "Diamonds Are Forever" shot in the house with the striking concrete dome and skylights suspended over the living room, design
ed to offer protection from the deadly desert sun.
Other features of this exquisitely interesting residence, recognisable in the scenes of the movie, are the giant rocks which were unearthed during digging for the house`s foundations and were finally incorporated in its interior design, the curved swimming pool, as well as the outdoor dining
area with stunning mountain views. All the cutting-edge design trends of the late `60s-early `70s era can be seen in "Diamonds Are Forever", enhanced with the film`s intense plot, the action scenes and the ravishing presence of Sean Connery in the role of the most famous cinematic secret agent.

τάσεις του τέλους της δεκαετίας των `60ς-αρχών των `70ς αποτυπώνονται στο "Diamonds Are Forever" με ένα
ιδιαίτερο τρόπο, ενισχυμένες με την έντονη
πλοκή, τις σκηνές δράσης και την γοητευτική
παρουσία του Sean Connery στο ρόλο του διασημότερου κινηματογραφικού
πράκτορα.
