"Vehicle" - The Ides Of March

   Since we find ourselves in a kind of retro mood, following the 1969 Grass Roots hit "I`d wait a million years" (click here for the relevant post), we move into next year: 

   In 1970 the monster hit "Vehicle" by funk rock band The Ides of March became the fastest selling single of Warner`s history, reaching 1.000.000 copies (!) and making them the opening act for Jimi Hendriχ, Janis Joplin & Led Zeppelin.

   Jim Peterick, singer, guitarist & songwriter of the band, is also the songwriter of another mega-hit "The eye of the tiger" from Survivor, his next band!

   Μια και βρισκόμαστε σε ρετρό διάθεση, ακολουθώντας την επιτυχία του 1969 των Grass Roots ""I`d wait a million years" (πατήστε εδώ για τη σχετική ανάρτηση), προχωράμε στο επόμενο έτος:

   Το 1970 η γιγαντιαία επιτυχία "Vehicle" από το  funk rock συγκρότημα των The Ides of March έγινε η επιτυχία που πούλησε γρηγορότερα στην ιστορία της Warner, φτάνοντας το 1.000.000. αντίτυπα (!) κάνοντάς τους το γκρουπ που άνοιγε τις συναυλίες των Jimi Hendriχ, Janis Joplin & Led Zeppelin.

   Ο Jim Peterick, τραγουδιστής, κιθαρίστας και συνθέτης της μπάντας, είναι επίσης ο συνθέτης μιας άλλης σούπερ επιτυχίας, του "The eye of the tiger" των Survivor, που ήταν η επόμενη μπάντα του!
